This privacy policy document details types of information that is collected and recorded by Steam Community Market Manager (SCMM) and how we use it.
TL;DR;
- -SCMM collects publicly available info about your Steam profile;
- -SCMM collects anonymous stats about how you use the website, we don't share/sell this to anybody;
- -SCMM may required your Steam API key for some functionality, we don't log/store/use your key for anything other than the action you supplied it for;
- -SCMM stores cookies on your device to support core website functionality only, we don't share/sell this to anybody;
- -You can obtain a copy of the info SCMM holds about your Steam profile (or request that it be deleted) from your profile preferences page;
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
SCMM collects publicly available information about your Steam profile, none of which is considered Personal [Identifiable] Information (unless your Steam alias is your IRL name).
SCMM retains public information it collects about your Steam profile indefinitely unless you explicitly request that it be removed.
If you wish to obtain a copy of the information we hold about your Steam profile and/or you want it to be removed from our systems, please use the functionality provided on your profile preferences page (under the "Data" tab).
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following data protection rights:
- -The right to access, update or to delete the information we have on you.
- -The right of rectification.
- -The right to object.
- -The right of restriction.
- -The right to data portability
- -The right to withdraw consent
Steam Web API Key
SCMM features that modify the contents of your Steam inventory will require you to supply your Steam Web API Key. When you supply your API key to SCMM, we do not log it, store it, or use it for any other purpose other than the action you supplied it for.
Giving your API key to 3rd parties can be dangerous!
Enable Steam Guard on your account to better protect yourself against scams, do not supply your API key to 3rd parties (including SCMM) without Steam Guard enabled.
3rd parties with your API key can do the following:
- -Modify your inventory item stacks (e.g. combine, split).
- -Manage your trade offers (e.g. create, cancel, accept, decline).
- -View your full trade history
- -View your full Steam profile information (regardless of privacy settings).
It is good practice to revoke your API key immeditately after use if you have no further use for it, this ensures your API key cannot be used again without your permission.
Log Files
SCMM follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, the URL of the page, and any warnings/errors that occur from your browsing session. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
Cookies
Like any other website, SCMM uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information about your login state and server state. The information is used purely to support core website functionality and we do not share this information with any third parties.

You may consult this list to find the Privacy Policy for each of the advertising partners of SCMM.
Third-party ad servers or ad networks uses technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons that are used in their respective advertisements and links that appear on SCMM, which are sent directly to users' browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see on websites that you visit.
Note that SCMM has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.
Third Party Privacy Policies
SCMM's Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information. It may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options.
You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. To know more detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers, it can be found at the browsers' respective websites.
Children's Information
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
SCMM does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
Online Privacy Policy Only
Our Privacy Policy only applies to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in SCMM. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.
